It stops itself when it touches a wall...
Also, who the hell decided this was a good idea?
That stupid spoiler is exactly at headlight height so the slow owners in the left hand lane may not even be aware of the driver behind them angrily flashing high-beams.

Holy blindspot.

We had a saying when I drove box trucks.
“Back up till it sounds expensive.”

I came to provide this same bit of advice. I once asked my bus driver how he managed to park the bus and he told me that was how he did it.

We’ve got a saying in dutch “boem is ho” which means something like you only need to stop when you hear a bang.

That rear-view makes me long for that expanse of glorious, curved glass that's on the Barracuda (as seen on the most recent Regular Car Review).

That’s why I usually saunter over to the shoulder and blast them in their maladjusted side mirrors.

I hit a granite mailbox post once. Luckily it was spring and the ground was wet so I could just push it back upright.

I got the same spoiler in the middle of the glass on the Veloster. I think it may actually help with Truck/SUV low beam glare through my rearview mirror. But yeah, it blocks a lot of your view.

The design style more than anything.
Guess my phrasing was off. It was a dark day...
edit: my bad on the link .

Exactly at headlight height? Headlight height differs greatly based on cars.
It’s definitely at the height of some cars’ headlights. But so is every spoiler, really.

In real world driving situations, I was unable to see 8-9/10 headlights behind me.

In America, where every second car is a huge pickup with headlights twice as high as the rest?

In Diet America (California) yes

To be fair, that spoiler thing is the same as the current gen. And since The Prius has like 0% conquer sales (I'm guessing), the drivers should be used to it. Maybe.

Ah yes, the infamous Northeast “Park by feel” method.

well, it does a great job of decreasing turbulence off the rear end, so given that efficiency is the priuses raison d’etre, it is acceptable.
I simply found it to be the second most annoying aspect of an otherwise well laid out car.

Most cars stop when they hit something. It depends on how much torque they have.

Try to pronounce (not translate) that as an American. It suddenly becomes a quite interesting saying.
